Scattering the Ashes!

It is great to be an author. It’s great to receive positive reviews for the books I write.

I just received the following e-mail regarding my novel, Scattering the Ashes:

“I want to let you know how much I enjoyed your novel.

I loved the characters and I could parallel Sam’s relationship with his dad to mine with my father in many ways. My father wouldn’t have thought to have me scatter his ashes, but if he had, Yankee Stadium would have been first and Cooperstown probably second.

The fact that so much of it happened in local NJ settings also added a nice twist.

So I wanted to congratulate you for a great job and thank you for the book. It was a fun read.”

UPCOMING APPEARANCES!

I will have a few upcoming appearances in the next two weeks:

On July 20, I will be the featured speaker at the Passaic County Baseball Series.

An Author Lecture: Paul Semendinger “The Least Among Them” is the third of the series and takes place Wednesday, July 20th at 6:30pm. It’s the day after the All-Star Game, and the slowest day on the sports calendar. Keep those All-Star vibes going and join author Paul Semendinger as he discusses his book, “The Least Among Them.” This book tells the unique histories of the men whose entire Major League Baseball career lasted but a single game, with that game being played with the New York Yankees. While these players may be forgotten, their stories are compelling. The lecture takes place at the Passaic County Arts Center at the John W. Rea House in Hawthorne.

On July 23, I will be the featured speaker at the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.

Come out to meet and talk with me as I shares my love and knowledge of baseball with others. (Bring your baseball glove, I might even have a catch with you!)

Stages of “Arriving”

I’m not a famous author, at least not yet. Maybe I never will be.

But, as I take this journey, It seems like I am “arriving” more and more as an author of some note. I an no longer a nobody, that’s for sure.

As I look back at my journey as an author, I think back to all of the steps I have taken as I have lived this dream aspect of my life.

Each positive step, I might call a “stage of arriving.”

The Manhattan Book Review gave the book a glowing writeup which read in part:

The Least Among Them by Paul Russell Semendinger tells the story – covering twenty-nine players in their unique Yankees history when they were given one chance to shine..

Semendinger does a truly fantastic job of setting the scene.

The book is also filled with pictures of baseball cards, historic photos, score sheets, and more…

The Least Among Them is a special book that shines a light on a number of Yankees who have probably not been talked about since their brief moments of fame..

It is a true gem of a piece of baseball history.

“Scattering the Ashes” is Phenomenal!

Readers’ Favorite recently reviewed my novel, Scattering the Ashes.

The review was glowing!

Scattering the Ashes earned Readers’ Favorite’s prestigious 5-Star Rating.

The reviewer noted:

The narrative was perfectly paced and incredibly rich with details.

Sam’s voice proved to be exactly what the reader needed to immerse themselves in the narrative and feel each part of the story resonate inside their heart.

Scattering the Ashes was just as self-reflective as it was entertaining.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the places where Sam went, I enjoyed the way the story flowed and I loved the way Sam over thought everything (that was common and human of him!).

Scattering the Ashes by Paul Russell Semendinger was phenomenal.
