I love New York City!

I greatly enjoy taking pictures on my visits to New York – The Greatest City in the World!

Occasionally, I’ll share a few of my favorite photos.  I hope you enjoy!

Joe Jackson and Me

One of my favorite musical artists of all time is Joe Jackson.  I have always enjoyed his avant-garde approach to music.   It seems that every album he produces has a different sound and a different approach.  Every album is enjoyable in its own right.  That being said, my favorite Joe Jackson album remains the first one of his I ever purchased, Night and Day.

This a true story about Joe Jackson and how he once wrote some music just for me.

Seriously.

YES, that Joe Jackson.

This happened a long time ago…back when the Internet was a new thing.  At that time, people could do a lot with e-mail.

Hiroshima, Japan – July 5, 2012

About four years ago, I embarked on a two-week educator’s tour of Japan.  It was an amazing experience.  I was fortunate to be able to bring my eighteen year old son who would be heading off to college on this trip with me.  I treasure those moments that we experienced together.

Each day in Japan was filled with wonder .  Each day provided an opportunity to learn and grow.  The trip left an indelible imprint upon my soul.  It was special in so many ways.

I hope to someday have the opportunity to experience Japan again.

26.2

For a short time, I was going to title this blog 26.2.  Why 26.2?  It’s simple, that’s the distance of a marathon.

I run marathons.

I’m not fast.  I don’t ever win.  If I finish in the top 20% of all runners in a given race, I am thrilled. Lately, as I get get older, I am becoming happy to finish in the top 50% of all runners.

Welcome!

I love to write.  For decades I have been sharing my thoughts on a variety of subjects with others.  I write mostly about education, writing, motivation, running, baseball (specifically, the Yankees), history, and… life. Over the years, my friends and colleagues have encouraged me to share my thoughts with others.  I have finally decided to do just that.  This blog will be a place to ponder and share thoughts on many different topics.

I hope you enjoy!
